ASHLEY BOYACK received her BFA in modern dance from the University of Utah. She began teaching for the University of Utah Tanner Dance Program in 1991. In 2010 she earned as Masters in Arts and Teaching from the University of Northern Colorado. Then Ashley, her 4 boys and husband, Morgan moved to Lawrence, Kansas. She joined the Lawrence Arts Center, where she served as the Artistic Director of the Youth Dance Theater. She also performed as a guest with the 940 Dance Company, created the preschool dance and modern dance curriculum, co-created the boys sports dance class curriculum, and served as the Lawrence Arts Center Dance Education Specialist. In 2016 she was honored with the Sorenson Legacy award for outstanding teaching in dance education. Ashley currently teaches full time at the University of Utah Tanner Dance program where she is Director of Professional Development. She also serves as a UofU Professional Development partner for the Beverly Taylor Sorenson Arts and Education Program.

Hope of the World includes tidbits of narration to make it easily understood by those new to dance or to the story itself and is recommended for ages 4 and up. It is directed by Andrielle Davidson and Lisa Clements and is sponsored by SGDance Company, DSU Dean of Students, St. George City RAP Tax, Utah Arts and Museums, Madsen Homes, SUHBA, and Menchies.

St George Dance Company presents, Hope of the World, A Nativity of Music and Dance, an inspirational collaborative production that draws you into the spirit of Christmas. It tells the story of the events leading up to and including the birth of Jesus Christ~ but in a whole new way: through the powerful mediums of dance and music! Come reflect on the most miraculous and important event ever, through the perspectives of Mary, Joseph, angels, Elizabeth, children, faithful people of the time, Shepherds and Wisemen. Featuring Erica Bryce and Troy McGee, SGDance Company, DSU dancers, and community dancers,

 

Conveyed through contemporary ballet and modern styles of six different choreographers, there is something for everyone!

This production was designed to lift the spirits of many in a time of discord and struggle by witnessing of the Savior Jesus Christ and by sharing His message of love, hope, and peace. Do you have a friend or neighbor who needs to hear this message? We are offering complimentary tickets for them as well as to Veterans, families who have suffered great loss, care center residents, and those in need.
